Ludus Mortis is a Windows grid-based first-person dungeon crawler RPG developed and published by 68k Studios, released in March 2024. Set in a dark-fantasy version of Imperial Rome, the game blends classical history with horror and necromancy themes. Players build and lead a party of gladiators to explore catacombs, battle demons and the undead, and manage a gladiatorial school (Ludus) in turn-based combat inspired by classic 80s–90s CRPGs.
The story unfolds as a corrupt Roman Senate unleashes necromantic forces, forcing gladiators to fight for Rome’s salvation. The game integrates strategic party management, exploration, and RPG progression to craft a nostalgic yet deep single-player experience.
