Monsters are Coming! Rock & Road is a fast-paced roguelite that combines tower defense, survival action, resource management, and city-building into an unusual adventure on wheels. Developed by Ludogram and published by Raw Fury, the game puts players in control of a mobile city attempting to reach the Ark, humanity’s last hope, while an endless army of monsters pursues it. The game was released for Windows on November 20, 2025.
Instead of defending a stationary base, players must protect a constantly moving city. The settlement acts as a massive mobile fortress, and its survival depends on carefully balancing exploration, resource gathering, construction, and combat. Players can collect wood, stone, and gold while moving through dangerous environments. Wood keeps the city’s engines running and improves tower efficiency, stone is useful for repairs and rebuilding, while gold helps expand the settlement and strengthen its defenses.
The player character serves as a multitasking hero who ventures away from the safety of the city to gather valuable resources and discover hidden rewards. Exploring farther from the main route can provide better materials, but staying away too long increases the danger of being overwhelmed or failing to return to the moving settlement in time. Side hordes and hidden locations provide additional opportunities for powerful rewards.
Building is central to survival. Players choose from different Town Halls and gradually expand the city with defensive structures. Archery outposts, specialized towers, and even fire-breathing dragons can be placed strategically to create different defensive builds. As the city gains experience, players can unlock new districts and determine where they should be positioned based on the needs of each run.
The roguelite structure ensures that every journey is different. Monsters become increasingly powerful as the city approaches the Ark, forcing players to continually adapt their strategy. Boss encounters provide major tests of preparation and combat ability. Even when the hero falls, the run does not immediately end; the city continues moving until it is ultimately destroyed.
Permanent progression gives failed attempts value. Players can collect compasses and use progression systems to improve future runs, gradually increasing their chances of surviving longer journeys. With its combination of mobile base defense, resource management, exploration, and chaotic monster battles, Monsters are Coming! Rock & Road offers a distinctive twist on the tower-survival genre.
